Penjelasan “Go Shopping”
Dari percakapan di atas ada 3 hal pokok yang harus dipahami. Simak! Penjelasan berikut:
1. Opening/ Greeting: Dalam langkah ini, untuk pengucapan salam bisa dimulai dari Shop Keeper atau dari Customer. Tetapi biasanya ucapan salam pembuka lebih baik diucapkan oleh seorang Shop Keeper. Pada Percakapan di atas, Ucapan Salam adalah sebagai berikut ini:
- Shop Keeper: Hi, Good day sir, How may I help you? What are you looking for?
- Steve: Hi, Good day. Yes, I am looking for black jacket. Do you have one?
Ada beberapa ekspresi yang dapat digunakan untuk menawarkan sebuah pertolongan. Berikut ini adalah beberapa contohnya:
- Can I help you?
- What can I do for you?
- How may I help you?
- May I help you?
- What are you looking for?
- Are you looking for something?
- Is anything that I can do for you?
2. Main Idea/ Topic: Dalam langkah ini, yaitu Topic, setiap Conversation atau Percakapan memiliki Topic masing-masing. Pada bacaan ini Percakapan di atas memiliki Topic bagaimana melakukan percakapan di toko pakaian “go shopping”. Pada Percakapan di atas, berikut ini merupakan bagian penting.
- Shop Keeper: Absolutely sir, we have a lot of collections. Please after me, I will show you the way.
- Steve: Alright.
- Shop Keeper: These are our Jackets sir, please enjoy your self. If you need something, I will be there.
- Steve: Thanks.
few minutes later…
- Shop Keeper: Do you find it, sir?
- Steve: Not yet, can you help me, please?
- Shop Keeper: My pleasure, sir.
- Steve: I love this model but this is larger than my size.
- Shop Keeper: Well, what size are you, sir?
- Steve: I am Medium. Do you have this model in medium?
- Shop Keeper: Please wait a minute, sir. I will check it for you.
few minutes later…
- Shop Keeper: This is your size sir but it’s just little bit different in color. This is dark brown and that model is black. Check it please.
- Steve: Eeemmm… This is nice color. Now can I try it on?
- Shop Keeper: Please. The fitting room is over there.
- Steve: Alright.
few minutes later…
- Steve: How do I look?
- Shop Keeper: Wow, That’s cool… It’s so gentle, sir.
- Steve: Thanks. So how much is this jacket?
- Shop Keeper: It is not expensive, sir. It just $ 130.00 but you will get 10% special price for discounts. It means that you have to pay $ 117.00.
- Steve: Oke. I will take it.
- Shop Keeper: Anything else, sir?
- Steve: Do you have boots?
- Shop Keeper: Yes, we have collections of boots. After me, please.
- Steve: Oke.
few minutes later…
- Steve: This is awesome. How much is this?
- Shop Keeper: That is $ 98.00. And it doesn’t have discount for this item, I’m so sorry, sir.
- Steve: That’s no problem. I will take it.
- Shop Keeper: Anything else?
- Steve: No. That will be all.
- Shop Keeper: Oke, this is the bill. Total is $ 215.00. Do you want to pay cash or with credit card, sir?
- Steve: I would like to pay cash, please. This is the money $ 215.00
Pada bagian Topic ada beberapa hal yang harus menjadi pusat perhatian yaitu:
- Ordering: Bagian ini bertujuan mencari atau memberikan sebuah informasi seputar produk barang yang akan dibeli atau dijual. Hal yang harus ada pada bagian ini/ Ordering adalah: Color/ Size/ Model/ Material.
- Billing: Bagian ini merupakan tahap berikutnya setelah melakukan pemesanan/ Ordering dengan tujuan memberikan info seputar harga untuk produk barang yang akan dipesan atau telah dipesan. Hal yang harus diperhatikan pada bagian ini/ Billing adalah: Price/ Fixed Price/ Final Price/ Special Price/ Discount/ Bargain/ Cas/ Credit Card.
3. Closing/ Leave Taking: Pada bagian ini, yaitu Salam Pisah. Hal ini sangat penting sekali untuk menutup sebuah percakapan apabila percakapan tersebut sudah berakhir. Pada percakapan di atas, Salam Pisah adalah sebagai berikut ini:
- Shop Keeper: Oke, this your Jacket and Boots. Thanks for coming and please come again.
- Steve: You are welcome.
